Autumn Activites Book Tag

Hey, guys! I was recently nominated by notsomoderngirl to do the Autumn Activities Book Tag, and considering Autumn is technically over 😦 I wanted to make this tag as soon as possible! This is going to be so much fun! ❤ 😀

Apple Picking- a book on your ‘to be read’ list that you can’t wait to take a bite out of!

Hmmm… well, considering I have a TBR list that is as long as my arm, this is such a tough question! However, I think I’m going to have to say ‘The List’ by Siobhan Vivian because it seems like a book that I’m really going to be consumed by and enjoy! The book is essentially about a high school, and  every year a list is posted and on it are 8 girls: the prettiest and the ugliest in each year group. The book basically deals with how the 8 girls cope in the aftermath and also trying to determine who writes the list and why. What shocked me the most is that this book is based on a true story 😮 It’s currently sitting in my bookcase, waiting to be read! 😀 Fingers crossed ❤

Corn Maze- a book that’s so much fun to get lost in!

This probably sounds really cliché or something, but when I read Divergent by Veronica Roth, I completely immerse myself in the action of the book. I often cite Divergent and The Hunger Games as the two series that really got me into reading, and so they are quite close to my heart ❤

Haunted Houses- a book that scared you silly!

I don’t tend to read scary books, but I guess I have read some thrilling books that have left me on edge and crying my heart out ❤ One particularly amazing book is Tease by Amanda Maciel – this is basically from the perspective of a bully after a teenage girl kills herself, and there in an inquest. It is about what she feels and how she deals with the aftermath. It is told in a dual narrative between flashbacks and present-day. It almost scares me to think that this book is based off a real story, too! 😮

2016-11-26-15-42-44Pumpkin Patches- the latest book you bought!

Again, I bought ‘The List’ by Siobhan Vivian most recently ❤ Looking forward to that book 😉 But I recently took out ‘Allegiant’ from the library (finally, I hear you cry!) as well as ‘Asking For It’ by Louise O’Neill and … I also popped into Waterstone’s yesterday and bought these beautiful badges ❤ I’m currently looking to buy a book-themed tote bag to pin them on! ❤ Recommendations would be SO helpful!

Scenic Drives- a book that is lyrically beautiful!

10000% The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E Smith ❤ ❤ Surely by now you all must know just how much I love this book! I’m just going to share some of the quotes to illustrate the point that YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK! ❤ The movie will be coming out next year and I cannot wait!! ❤ ❤

“It’s not the changes that will break your heart; it’s that tug of familiarity.”

“He’s like a song she can’t get out of her head. Hard as she tries, the melody of their meeting runs through her mind on an endless loop, each time as surprisingly sweet as the last, like a lullaby, like a hymn, and she doesn’t think she could ever get tired of hearing it.”
“Love is the strangest, most illogical thing in the world.”
“It’s one thing to run away when someone’s chasing you. It’s entirely another to be running all alone.”

I can’t believe you’re here,” she says, her voice soft. “I can’t believe you found me.”

“You found me first,” he says, and when he leans to kiss her, it’s slow and sweet and she knows that this will be the one she always remembers. Because while the other two kisses felt like endings, this one is unquestionably a beginning.”

“Is it possible not to ever know your type – not to even know you have a type – until quite suddenly you do?”

“People who meet in airports are seventy-two percent more likely to fall for each other than people who meet anywhere else.”

“That’s the thing about flying: You could talk to someone for hours and never even know his name, share your deepest secrets and then never see them again.”

“But Hadley understood. It wasn’t that she was meant to read them all. Maybe someday she would, but for now, it was more the gesture itself. He was giving her the most important thing he could, the only way he knew how. He was a professor, a lover of stories, and he was building her a library in the same way other men might build their daughters houses.”

“But just as she turns to walk away she hears him behind her, the word like the opening of some door, like an ending and a beginning, like a wish.
“Wait,” he says, and so she does.”

“People talk about books being an escape…this one feels more like a lifeline.”

I’m so sorry about how overboard I went with these quotes, but this book as absolutely packed with AMAZING quotes ❤ ❤ 😀 I just love love love this book so much !! ❤

Pumpkin Carving- a book you didn’t like and wouldn’t mind carving up!

It generally takes a particularly bad book (in my opinion) for me to truly resent it. For that reason, I don’t think I can actually say anything in this part. There are, however, a few books that I just really could not get myself into:

  • If I Stay by Gayle Forman
  • What I Was by Meg Rosoff
  • Falling by Sharon Dogar

Sorry if you enjoyed any of these!

Hiking – a book that was a highly enjoyable romp!

Boy, was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire a LONG book! It took me days to read due to the sheer length of it! But it was BY FAR my favourite Harry Potter book to date ❤ My emotions were completely exhausted by the end of it, but I wouldn’t change that feeling for anything in the world! 😀

Drinking Apple Cider- a sweet book to cuddle under the covers with!

‘Attachments’ by Rainbow Rowell – God, I loved this book! The friendship between Beth and Jennifer was amazing! 😀 They had me in stitches throughout. Another thing I love about this book was the format: I know some people absolutely hate the email/letter format thing (aka. contemporary epistolary), but it is something I have loved since day 1! ❤ The first book I read in that format was ‘Boy Meets Girl’ by Meg Cabot – another office romance told through letters, emails, and notes! I highly recommend that book too! I truly have fallen in love with this format ❤

Anyway, back to Attachments! Lincoln was truly a good guy, hence the reason why he did the right thing in the end! He was truly lovely and I loved how his world collided with Beth’s in a strange twist of fate – as well as when he was helping out Jennifer. Although we never truly meet Mitch, I thought he was wonderful for Jennifer! And please tell me I’m not the only one who HATED Beth’s boyfriend! 😦 The book ended in the PERFECT way and it left me squealing with joy! ❤

Jumping in a Leaf Pile – a book that reminds you of your childhood!

This question is quite difficult as I wouldn’t consider myself to be an adult quite yet, but if we are referring to my early years, I think I would have to say that the entire Paddington Bear series! ❤ I used to watch all the tv shows and movies, but being read those books were one of the highlights of my childhood. My grandma recently bought me the entire collection with the edges lined in gold! It is truly something special that I will keep with me to cherish the memories!
