It’s my blog’s 1st birthday! 🎉🎊🎆
Whilst I made this WordPress account over 1 year ago, I only really started using this blog on Saturday 18th June 2016, writing about my Work Experience with the local town council. So much has changed since then and I am truly blessed to have been on this wonderful blogging journey 😍☺️
Let’s go through some of my blogging numbers…
The total number of views that posts on my blog have had since I began blogging. I cannot believe my posts have been read and viewed over 4000 times! 👁
The total number of visitors I’ve had to my site! This is absolutely staggering! 😮
This is how many views I received in my most viewed blogging month of October 2016. This was the month that the blog really started taking off and I realised that blogging was going to become a more permanent feature in my day to day life. 👁
This is the number of followers (WordPress and email) I have at the current time! I am so grateful for the support I have received from every single one of you! 🙌
The total number of likes I received on my most liked post, ‘What I’ve learned from travelling.‘ I must say that this post was one of my favourite ones to write, and clearly many of you though so too 😉⭐️
This is the number of blog posts that I have made in this year (counting this one). It’s insane, especially considering how few posts I’ve published during my GCSEs that I’ve managed to surpass an average of a post per week. 😅
The number of countries that people have been reading my blog from. Numbers like this leave me speechless! Shoutout to all of my international readers (outside the UK!) 🇬🇧🌍
The largest number of comments that I have on one given post, A BIG Thank You! 50+ Followers’ which was a post written to record my first milestone on WordPress. That day was so incredible and I continue to feel the joy today of knowing that so many people appreciate my ramblings! 🤗
The number of blog award nominations I have received. I’m one lucky girl and truly blessed to get this kind of recognition from other bloggers. I’m humbled by these kind gestures and very grateful that these awards allow me to recognise other bloggers for their achievements. 🏅
The number of blog post ideas/half written posts just sat in my ‘Drafts’ box right now. All of them have been in there so long I may well need to completely upcycle the content. 🔄
The family that I have in blogging. We are one community and I wouldn’t change any of you for the world. It is your positivity and encouragement that has kept me going throughout this year 🙂
I seriously cannot thank you enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me such an incredible, positive experience.
Wacky Search Terms
Here are some strange search terms that have lead people to my blog:
‘Audrey Hepburn’ – People have visited my blog because of having searched for Audrey Hepburn? She is absolutely stunning and very talented but I doubt I have ever mentioned her within my blog 😂
‘Please get me a glass of juice question tag’ – Um, what? 😂 If this is a legitimate question tag please let me know, but I have no clue how anyone ended up on my blog this way in any case 😂
‘my grades’ – This probably has something to do with My Mock Exam Results Post but it’s still surprising that someone managed to get referred to my blog in amongst the many other ‘my grades’ search results 🤔
And on that note, we now move onto the Q&A section…
I’ve been asked lots of lovely questions by some of my followers – thank you for all of your submissions! Please go and follow all of these amazing people because their blogs are even more insanely good than their questions! 😄
I received four lovely questions from the wonderful Tabi, all of which I am going to answer, simply because they were extremely well thought out! 🐻
1. Would you rather not be able to blog, but read other people’s content, OR be able to blog and not read and socialise with other people’s content?
Hmm… I think this is a tough one, but I have let myself think about it for a long time, and I’ve decided I would rather not be able to blog! I would very much prefer to read other people’s blog posts and share my ideas on them in their comments (provided that’s okay) because then I could still make friends in the same way that I have been blessed enough to on here. You guys are too valuable to lose and if I couldn’t socialise with the content of others it would make blogging feel lonely 😭💞
2. What is the thing you’re most proud of doing this year?
Surviving my GCSE exams. Boy has it been tough, but I finish next week – only 3 exams left out of the 23! I just want to make myself and my family proud come August when I get my results 😌
3. What is your favourite snack? Sweet or savoury?
I’m quite a snacky person in general! I think I’m more of a sweet girl (kind of always have been) and my ideal sweet snack would probably be strawberry pencils🍓(or blue raspberry ones, which are so good!) or marshmallows. In terms of savoury, I love salted tortilla chips and pretzels! 😋
4. Do you have a secret hobby or talent we don’t know about?
Well, I’ve already mentioned art, writing poetry, all of the musical stuff and public speaking, so I guess that doesn’t leave much else to say. I’m quite good at Sudoku, Scrabble and Rummikub, so I guess that counts as hobbies 🕵
Sarah @Between the Pages
Sarah sent me these lovely questions to answer, which I believe to be quite open ended which I like a lot 📖
1. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner?
Dinner. Some of my favourite experiences with family and friends have been getting together, dressed up nicely and catching up over dinner ❤️ Also, the Last Supper was an evening meal, so that’s another reason for you 😉
2. How did you end up starting this fabulous blog of yours?
Firstly, thank you so much for that compliment! You guys have no idea how much you make me smile 😌 I had a friend who was into blogging (my wonderful German friend Frederike, you can find her blog here) and I decided to start up an account to read her posts and some others. Then I just decided to start setting up a blog as a bit of a summer project and just to see what I could do with it. I read so many online manuals and watched instructional videos to help me learn how to develop my blog and understand how to use WordPress better. I just wanted to write about things I was passionate about and to share my photography with people. I never expected it to grow like this; it’s been one of the greatest surprises I’ve ever had. Like Mia says in La La Land: “People love what other people are passionate about.” ❤️
Sophie Samantha was one of my very first followers, following me before my blog ever took off 😀 Thank you for being there through it all and for providing this question for me to answer 🌺
1. What’s your favourite part of blogging?
My favourite part of blogging is interacting with other bloggers in the comments to see what they think about my posts. I love discussing things and making new friends over things I’ve written. I also adore researching stuff for posts. I think I’m a bit of a knowledge hoarder as I just love to learn everything I can about a topic I’m writing about. 😂
Jainey of Harmonious Joy
Thank you, Jainey for these 5 questions! I’ll do my best to answer them!
1. Do you like games?
I do enjoy playing board games with my grandma and video games with my sister. I think it’s a good way to get competitive and bond with family members.
2. How would you describe your relationship with chocolate?
My relationship with chocolate is that chocolate rarely exists for more than three seconds when I’m around it. I am in love with chocolate. 🍫
3. Are you nocturnal or a day person?
Probably nocturnal. I am the kind of person who gets good ideas later on in the day. Although I do get up quite early as well, so there is that 🌚
4. Will you teach me to bake by putting up baking videos in the near future?
I think it unlikely that anyone would watch baking videos by me, especially since my recipe book is rather limited in terms of what I can make. 😂 It is however, a possibility in the future that I may do a baking video or two sometime in the future if lots of people would like that 🙂 In the meanwhile, I suggest you follow one of the many wonderful baking and cooking blogs that can be found across WordPress or watch some YouTubers such as My Cupcake Addiction, Todd’s Kitchen, Simple Cooking Channel, How To Cake It or Cookies, Cupcakes and Cardio. All are wonderful 🍰
5. What’s your best skill?
My best skill is probably my ability to use my voice. I’m quite a vocal person when I sense injustice, but I also use my voice for Public Speaking, one of my main hobbies and also for singing. I love using my voice and I can hardly imagine my life without the ability to sing or to speak up.
And that was the end of the questions!
I hope you all enjoyed reading this post. Whether you’ve been following my blog for a long time or have only just discovered it, I want to thank you so so much. I am blessed to be part of this community. Love always. 😘
